The role of the diet is achieving greater salience in the appreciation of factors determining our level of health.It is now established that diet can prevent or encourage a wide range of disease conditions. Research increasingly indicates that particular dietary patterns and food types offer immediate therapeutic benefits. In addition, the appreciation of the concept of Toxicity absorbed from food and environmental pollutants, and the various detoxification methods, is rising in the public domain.

The role of naturopathic nutrition advice and education is to tailor nutrient intake to optimise structure and function in the body, then maintain it. This is the overall role; there is also a more targeted therapeutic use of nutrients to counter disease and remove toxicity, from whatever source it has come. During your initial consultation, we will be taking a great deal of interest in your dietary habits, and may ask you to complete a log of  your total intake for a week. This is to aid in assessing your condition, and shouldn’t be too much of a chore. You do want to be helped, after all, don’t you? Please check out the other nutrition pages.
